East Yorkshire MP Sir Greg Knight has urged people to obey instructions to stay at home except where absolutely necessary.
Social distancing is an essential tool in stopping the spread of the coronavirus, and Sir Greg said it is necessary to save lives. “Social distancing will inevitably be difficult, but we must all do what we can to stop the pandemic”.
Sir Greg also applauded healthcare workers for their tireless efforts to treat people who were infected.
Following the government’s announcement on Monday, everyone must stay home unless travelling to work, where this work is essential, going for daily exercise, or doing essential shopping. “If we obey these orders and stay at home, we can save lives”.
